On January 31, 2020, in the Central Concert Hall "Kazakhstan" in the city of Nur-Sultan was held an expanded meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berdibek Saparbayev, which was attended by representatives of the IAAR. At an expanded meeting of the Collegium, the pedagogical and scientific community, as well as representatives of government bodies, trade union and non-profit organizations, and the media were widely represented.

The main issue on the agenda was a discussion of the results of the activities of the Ministry of Education and Science for 2019 and the tasks for 2020. The speeches of the Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aymagambetov and vice ministers presented an analysis of the most acute problems in the system of preschool, school, vocational and higher education, as well as the innovations and results of 2019, tasks and solutions for 2020. Particular emphasis was given to the implementation of the State Program for the Development of Education and Science for 2020 - 2025, aimed at increasing the global competitiveness of Kazakhstani education and science, increasing the contribution of science to the socio-economic development of the country.

The final meeting at the Collegium was the speech of Deputy Prime Minister B. Saparbayev, who set specific tasks for the heads of government bodies, university rectors and directors of colleges and schools on the implementation of the State Program for the Development of Education and Science, drew their attention to increasing responsibility to society and the state.
