On 21-23 November 2025, the General Director of IAAR, A.B. Zhumagulova, took part in the General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) and the Academic Conference “Expanding Cooperation for Quality Higher Education”, held in Hong Kong. The event was organised by APQN in cooperation with the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ).

General Director Alina Zhumagulova delivered a presentation titled “Developing Cooperation in International Accreditation”, where she shared IAAR’s experience and modern approaches to international accreditation in the context of the transformation of the global educational landscape.

The conference brought together leading experts and heads of quality assurance agencies, including APQN President Galina Motova, HKCAAVQ Executive Director and host of the conference Albert Chow. The event was also attended by Stephane Lauwick, President of the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR), Douglas Blackstock, former President of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), as well as representatives of universities, national agencies, and international organisations from the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, and the Middle East.

The conference programme included APQN committee working meetings, where strategic initiatives and activities aimed at strengthening international cooperation were discussed. IAAR’s participation in the 2025 APQN Academic Conference and Annual General Meeting strengthens the agency’s position on the international stage and contributes to expanding partnerships aimed at further developing quality assurance within the global educational space.
