IAAR held a workshop on "Export of Educational Services: Best Practices in International Accreditation"

On January 15, 2026, NPI “Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating” held a Workshop entitled “Export of Educational Services: Best Practices of International Accreditation” within the framework of the “Quality Assurance Forum in Higher Education: Current State and Development Prospects”, organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event opened with a welcoming address by A.Zh. Toibaev, Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who emphasised the important role of IAAR in ensuring the quality of higher education not only within the country but also far beyond its borders.
In her presentation “International Accreditation and Education Quality: Trends and New Horizons”, General Director of IAAR, A.B. Zhumagulova, highlighted the key objective of the Workshop, which is focused on ensuring high-quality education as a new form of export for the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of digital transformation and the development of artificial intelligence.
IAAR Advisor O.A. Yanovskaya discussed with the participants the design of a new educational environment based on the modern architecture of international standards, identifying weaknesses and “bottlenecks” to improve approaches to quality assurance and prepare higher education institutions for international accreditation. 
IAAR Expert R.S. Dosmagambetova drew participants’ attention to the challenges of ensuring the quality of medical education through improving the methodological and expert competencies of program leaders and staff responsible for maintaining the quality of key processes within higher education institutions. 
IAAR Category I Expert G.S. Akybaeva conducted a Workshop entitled “Practices of Quality Assessment and Monitoring within the Internal System”, aimed at developing the managerial competencies of university leaders in applying practices of quality assessment and monitoring within internal quality assurance systems in higher and postgraduate education. 
More than 150 representatives of higher education institutions across the Republic participated in the Workshop, including rectors, vice-rectors, heads of quality committees, experts, and academic staff. As a result of the Workshop, participants structured a managerial vision of the role of quality assessment and monitoring in the system of strategic university management, risk management, and ensuring successful accreditation outcomes. At the conclusion of the event, all participants received certificates.
