On May 19, 2021, representatives of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) took an active part in the Round Table "Tools for Education Quality Assurance: Vertical Context and Institutional Interests" organised at the EXPO Business Center in Nur-Sultan city.

The purpose of the event was a discussion of the current quality assurance system and elaboration of recommendations for the development of a general quality assurance policy in Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan - G.I. Kobenova, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the MES RK - B.M. Narbekova, the Head of the National Erasmus + Office in Kazakhstan - Sh.U. Tasbulatova, the Moderator of the Round table was the Rector of Astana IT University - D.Zh. Akhmed-Zaki, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs) in Kazakhstan, the first Vice-Rector of Astana IT University -  S.M. Omirbayev.

A.B. Zhumagulova, Director General of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating, delivered a presentation "International Accreditation as a Paradigm of Global Education Quality Assurance".

The Round Table was held in a mixed - offline format and attended by more than 100 representatives of the academic community, rectors, and vice-rectors of the country's leading universities. Based on the Round Table results, participants adopted a resolution and defined directions for further education quality assurance in the context of ESG and national priorities.
