World Congress of Engineers and Scientists WSEC-2017

Under the EXPO-2017 auspices the World Congress of Engineers and Scientists WSEC-2017 "Energy of the future: innovative scenarios and methods of their implementation" was hosted in Astana on June 19-20. Among the co-organizers of the World Congress is the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR).

The Congress center of the international exhibition became a platform for discussions on the development of "green" technologies and renewable energy sources.

WSEC-2017 gathered more than 1500 delegates from 51 countries of the world, including Nobel Prize laureates, winners of the International Prize “Global Energy”, leading foreign and Kazakh scientists and experts, and energy ministers from different countries.

On the first day of the Congress, four Nobel Prize laureates - Rae Kwon Chung, Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, Mohan Munasinghe and Riccardo Valentini, addressed the audience at the Plenary session.

Over the course of the forum, over 300 papers, over 80 scientific presentations, poster presentations and video materials of implemented innovative projects were presented.

The program of the Congress WSEC-2017 unfolds in 4 thematic clusters:

Prospects and scenarios for the development of world energy until 2050.

The balance of the energy trilemma: security, availability and environmental sustainability.

Development of energy resources: global trends, competitiveness, innovations and prospects for their application in Kazakhstan.

Scientific human staffing.

According to the Chair of the Organizing Committee, "The Congress will give a kind of impetus to the deepening of scientific and engineering developments of scientists of Central Asia, near and far abroad, which would ensure consolidation of efforts in raising the level of energy efficiency and development of advanced technologies for production and storage of energy."
