II Central Asian International Forum on Quality Assurance in Education

The Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) to discuss topical issues of quality assurance of education, the emerging challenges of time, opportunities and prospects for development held the Central Asian Forum on Quality Assurance.I Central Asian Forum was held in 2017 in Almaty, and was attended by representatives of 11 states. The forum laid the foundations for constructive cooperation between accreditation agencies and universities of the Central Asian region.

On October 16, 2018 the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating together with Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy hold the II Central Asian International Forum on Quality Assurance in Education, which was attended by over 200 people from 15 states. Deputies of the Senate and Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, vice ministers of education of the Central Asian states (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), rectors of universities of Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Belarus, students and employers spoke at the Forum. Representatives of the professional community became active participants of the Forum. Key forum speakers were Karl Dittrich, President of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), Christoph Grolimund, President of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), as well as heads of foreign accreditation bodies from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Latvia, Moldova and Russia.

Within the framework of Forum held Plenary session, 3 large Panel sessions “Implementation of ESG 2015 in Central Asian Countries”; “The Role and Influence of the Bologna Process on Improving the Education System”; “International Accreditation in the Central Asian Region” and Round table “Erasmus + projects in Kazakhstan”.

The II Central Asian Forum as an international platform allowed to consider the best international accreditation practices, exchange views, identify prospects for cooperation of accreditation agencies, combining their potential and resources to ensure the quality of education.

The Central Asian Forum on Quality Assurance in Education is becoming an annual tradition and arouses great interest from the academic and professional community of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. The wide involvement and interest of the Forum participants, the constructiveness of the proposed solutions testifies to its practical orientation, success and high potential!
