Entrepreneurial education in the context of the innovative development of Kazakhstan

On May 22-23, 2019, the 3rd International Forum “Entrepreneurial Education for Innovative Economy” takes place in Nur-Sultan. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almaty Management University (AlmaU), Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), co-organized by the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the RK “Atameken”, the Association of Entrepreneurial Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Education Department of Nur-Sultan. Within the framework of the Forum, workshops and trainings on design thinking, leadership, modern negotiations, art of presentations and entrepreneurship, master classes on innovation-entrepreneurial orientation of personality development were held on the first day. Of particular interest was the workshop on the creation of entrepreneurial universities as drivers of socio-economic development of the Chairman of theAccreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU), Dr. Thorsten Kliewe (Germany).

The second day of the Forum is devoted to the discussion at the plenary session the issues of implementing entrepreneurial education for an innovative economy. Under the conditions of industry 4.0, the Internet of Things, big data and other trends, the role and functions of universities and colleges in the process of knowledge transfer and accelerating the growth rate of the innovation component of the economy are increasing. Universities are considered as an integral part of the national innovation system, actively interacting with the business sector.

Representatives of the IAAR took an active part in the sessions of the Forum, at which experts from Kazakhstan, Germany, Great Britain, Russia and the USA discussed the development of a broad partnership of the state, education, business and civil society; competences, case studies and new ideas for effective entrepreneurial education. The sessions on such issues as educational solutions for management teams, trends of continuous professional development, identification and development of the talent of an entrepreneur were relevant. The Forum ended with the awarding of the winners of the “StartUp Making Day” competition.
