Prospects for the Development of Medical Education in the Central Asian Region

On December 13, 2019, representatives of IAAR, upon an official invitation, took part in the regional international meeting "Prospects for the Development of Medical Education in the Central Asian Region" in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was held at a high government level with the participation of the President of the World Federation for Medical Education WFME - Professor David Gordon, Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Omurbekova, Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic - Professor K. Cholponbaev, Vice Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic - N. Omurov, President of the Academic Consortium "International University of Kyrgyzstan" - Professor A. Aydaraliev, the General Director of IAAR - A. Zhumagulova and other representatives of the academic community of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries.
The meeting discussed the quality of medical education in the Central Asian region. In his speech, WFME President David Gordon noted the great role and significant contribution of the IAAR in ensuring the quality of medical education in the region, as the only recognised Agency among the CIS countries! The General Director of IAAR A. Zhumagulova in her report presented recommendations for further improving the quality of medical education in the countries of the Central Asian region, based on international accreditation procedures and the rating of educational programs of universities in this region. Based on the results of the international meeting, a Resolution was adopted and proposals were prepared for the further development of higher medical education!
