UNESCO Regional Meeting for Eastern Europe and Central Asia "The role of quality assurance in higher education: challenges, achievements and prospects"

On April 23 - 24, 2018 in Moscow (Russia) Director of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating Zhumagulova Alina Bakytzhanovna and Adviser to the agency Yanovskaya Olga Alekseevna participated in the UNESCO Regional Meeting for Eastern Europe and Central Asia "The role of quality assurance in higher education: challenges, achievements and prospects".
Zhumagulova Alina Bakytzhanovna spoke at the meeting with a presentation on the topic: "Development of the quality system of education in the Republic of Kazakhstan: the experience of IAAR". The Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) with the majority of Russian accreditation agencies signed memorandums on cooperation aimed at developing effective cooperation in the field of quality assurance, training experts, implementing joint educational projects and sharing experiences.
Susanna Karakhanyan - President of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education INQAAHE (UAE), Lemka Izmaylova - Director of the FSI “National Accreditation Agency”, Erica Soboleva - Director of "AKKORK", Nora Skaburskiene - Director of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC), President of the Network of Central and Eastern European Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA) actively participated in the meeting.
The targeted audience consisted of quality assurance agencies, universities, government bodies, companies and stakeholders in higher education.
The meeting was attended by the ENQA President (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) Christoph Grolimund (Switzerland), who in his speech noted the high level of accreditation development in Kazakhstan and the success of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) as the first national accreditation body in Kazakhstan, which has the status of a full member of the ENQA. This high appreciation of IAAR activities by an authoritative expert organization is a confirmation of compliance of the external quality assessment procedures with European standards.
