On September 24, 2024, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) held a webinar for the chairmen of the external expert panels on the topic: "External quality assessment for compliance with IAAR standards and focus on improvement". The moderators of the webinar Gulnar Iskakova, Advisor on Strategic Development, Timur Kanap'yanov, Deputy General Director for International Cooperation, familiarized the chairmen of the EEP with the latest changes and additions to the IAAR documents, including the Standards and Guidelines for Conducting Specialized Accreditation, and held a discussion on the most important aspects of ensuring compliance of the external assessment procedure and the report of the external expert panel with the IAAR requirements and standards. The first category IAAR experts shared their experience of working as the Chair of the EEP with the webinar participants: Gulvira Akybaeva, Candidate of Economic Sciences ("Features of conducting external evaluation of educational institutions/programmes taking into account the norms of national legislation in the field of higher and postgraduate education"), Andrey Bratsikhin, Doctor of Technical Sciences ("Organization of the activities of the EEP and consideration of factors affecting the effectiveness of its work"), Aliya Aldungarova, PhD ("Formation of recommendations for improving quality using the example of criteria for student-centered learning and the internal quality assurance system"). Particular attention was paid to issues of a deeper understanding by educational organizations and substantive preparation for accreditation as an important mechanism for  education quality assurance, a clear understanding of the content of the standards criteria, and ensuring the quality of EEP reports.
