On March 29, 2023, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) held a webinar on preparing experts for the visit of an external expert commission to medical educational organizations.

The moderators were - Alissa Jakenova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, IAAR project manager for institutional and specialized accreditation of medical educational organizations, Malika Saidulayeva, IAAR Project Manager for Instituttional and Program Accreditation of Additional Education Organizations, Saule Sydykova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Chairman of the IAAR Expert Council on Medical Education.

The webinar program consisted of two parts. In the theoretical part of the webinar, the participants were introduced to the main tasks and functions of an expert of an external expert commission in the accreditation process, conducting an external quality assessment for compliance with IAAR international standards for medical education based on WFME standards, as well as the Guidelines on the organization and conduct of an external assessment procedure in the accreditation process of an education organization and (or) educational program.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of collegial discussion of the preliminary results of the assessment in accordance with the parameters of the educational program profile, the principles of forming the evidence / analytical part of the EEC report, ensuring that the assessments of the parameters correspond to the content of the analytical part.

The practical part of the webinar consisted of working with cases, assessing the compliance of the report of the educational organization with the standards and criteria for IAAR accreditation, and a business game with focus groups.
