International Accreditation of Schools: IAAR Experience in Quality Assurance of Education

On April 18, 2025, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) held a training seminar for school heads of Astana city and regions of the republic on the topic: "International Accreditation of Schools: IAAR Experience in Quality Assurance of Education" within the framework of the "Ayel Amanat" project of the AMANAT party on the basis of Astana IT University.
The seminar was attended off-line by more than 50 school heads and on-line by more than 200 people.
The aim of the seminar was to prepare heads of educational organisations for the procedure of external evaluation of schools and international accreditation.
At the seminar, the IAAR General Director Zhumagulova A.B. and the Rector of Astana IT University - Khikmetov A.K., as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Karambayev Zh.P., Deputy Executive Secretary of the Astana branch of the AMANAT party - Utebayeva M.M. and the Department Head of the Akimat of Astana - Kasenova A.B. made a welcoming speech.
Advisor to the IAAR General Director Yanovskaya O.A. in her presentation told about the key role of international accreditation as a mechanism for quality assurance of education in schools of the republic and shared the agency's experience in conducting an external assessment. The director of the "Kazakhstan School of Intellect" - Kulbarakova G.M. spoke at the seminar, noting the positive experience of passing the school accreditation in IAAR and its impact on improving the quality of education. IAAR project managers: Bekenova D.K. and Auezkhanova Zh.A. dwelt in detail on the stages and procedures for accreditation in secondary education organisations and on international standards for institutional accreditation of schools. At the end of the seminar, all participants received certificates.
